Job description
As part of Virya Energy's hydrogen activities, you'll join a specialized team developing a growing portfolio of hydrogen production plants across Belgium and the Netherlands, with ambitions to expand further. We combine production development with innovative infrastructure solutions through DATS 24's refuelling network, while actively shaping the hydrogen market by establishing strategic partnerships with off takers. This unique position allows us to drive the entire hydrogen value chain forward, from production to end-user applications. As part of Virya Energy's broader renewable energy portfolio, we leverage the group's extensive experience across the energy sector while maintaining our focused expertise in hydrogen development.
As an innovative leader, we are looking for an experienced O&M Engineer to join our team and play a key role in optimizing our hydrogen operational services.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of our installations (including 24 wind turbines) via a monitoring system, ensuring maximum production and high technical availability.
Report technical faults, track downtimes, and manage third-party maintenance.
Maintain supplier relationships and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports for each site.
Organize and manage interventions, such as on-site visits for icing or telecommunication issues.
Provide technical support across various departments (procurement, development, construction, legal).
Project Coordination:
Lead all phases of projects from concept to completion, monitoring timelines, costs, and resources.
Negotiate with site owners, grid operators, and suppliers.
Ensure proper permitting, investment decisions, and contractual execution of LTSA contracts.
Facilitate communication across departments, ensuring smooth project flow.
Job requirements
Master’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Civil). A good understanding of electricity, energy markets or hydrogen is essential.
Experience in energy technologies, particularly hydrogen, industrial gases or renewable energy.
Proven experience in operations and maintenance management.
Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
Self-motivated with a strong team-oriented mindset.
