Key actor in the energy transition, ViryaH2 develops sustainable hydrogen production plants and develops hydrogen solutions to facilitate the energy transition of the end-consumer. Virya H2 is, among others, behind the hydrogen refuelling stations of DATS 24.
Virya H2 is part of the Virya Energy Group, which is active along the entire sustainable energy value chain, from generation to distribution. Other activities include wind and solar generation, mobility services, and services to industries active in the sustainable transition. Virya Energy currently has about 600MW of installed green energy production capacity, mainly in wind power. Virya Energy creates scale and facilitates the exchange of knowledge amongst the entities of the group.
The company was created in 2019 as the renewable energy subsidiary of Colruyt Group and Korys (the investment company of the Belgian Colruyt family)
Your role:
As Business Developer Hydrogen, you will assist our company in scaling up the existing portfolio in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and the rest of the Europe.
Your activities will include:
- Scaling up of the hydrogen portfolio (production and refueling stations).
- Exploring and assessing various market opportunities to meet capacity targets.
- Being responsible for new deal origination and structuring transactions in order to grow and optimize the portfolio.
- Being able to lead, structure and raise debt and equity financing.
- Identifying, developing, negotiating and executing complex structured energy transactions.
- Developing and maintaining a strong network of partners in the hydrogen and renewable energy sector (offtakers, partners, investors, contractors).
- Managing the entire deal approval process with all internal stakeholders and taking full front-to-end ownership of implementation of new deals and management of these deals.
- Working closely with the legal, finance, technology and public affairs teams.
- Reporting directly to the Business Development manager.
Job requirements
Your profile
- You have obtained a university master's degree in economics, business, or similar.
- You have a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in industrial and specialty gases or energy markets.
- You have a proven track record in the valuation, structuring, negotiation and execution of transactions
- You are familiar with non-standard power/gas contract terms, long-term off take agreements / PPAs.
- Solid financial and modelling skills, knowledge of financial/investment modelling of power assets and energy structures
- You are a strong team player able to easily co-operate with members from internal teams.
- You are willing to travel frequently.
- You demonstrate a high level of initiative, motivation and autonomy.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of French is an asset.
